Gabrielle Beasley

Favourite play: Much Ado About Nothing Favourite Character: Mercutio - Romeo & Juliet

 

Born and raised in London, Gabrielle trained as an actor with Cynthia Coatts and Mick Barnfather (Complicité) and performed with Little Cauliflower Theatre, Pleasance and Tricity Vogue at Edinburgh Fringe and venues around London and south-east England. She first performed Shakespeare as a teenager and obtained a gold medal in Acting from LAMDA.

 

After a few years in Italy, teaching English and drama, she moved to Perth where she discovered a passion for improv comedy, performing with Only The Human at all of Perth's major comedy rooms, including Comedy Lounge. Her all-girl team 'Crazy Sexy Improv' debuted their eponymous show at Fringe World 2018. Also in Perth, she was part of the original cast of Cluedunnit's improvised murder mystery theatre, playing a whole host of 1930s dames masking varying degrees of villainy.

 

Gabrielle is inordinately excited to be fulfilling a long-held dream of performing with Soothplayers as she believes the first time she saw them perform 'The Gentleman hath no Honour' at MICF '17 was the closest she's ever come to experiencing love at first sight. Not to overstate it or anything.
