John Marc Desengano
Upon graduating from The University of Ballarat, Arts Academy’s acting course in 2008, John has
performed for a Theatre in Education Company called Brainstorm Productions. He brought shows to high schools and primary schools all over Australia, tackling issues such as bullying, substance abuse, cultural diversity and many more. John toured with Brainstorm for five years.
After that, John enrolled in the University of Melbourne to attain a Masters of Primary Teaching,
which he accomplished in 2015, and now works as a casual relief teacher for various primary schools
around the Greater Dandenong district.
Since 2011, John has worked with the theatre company, 15 Minutes from Anywhere, and developed a
show called “The Yellow Wave”. The show was part of the inaugural year of The Poppy Seed festival
and was nominated for a Green Room Award for most outstanding ensemble in 2015. It has had
return seasons and in 2017, “The Yellow Wave” will commence a Regional Arts Victoria tour and has
been selected for the VCE Drama and Theatre Studies playlist.
John has also become a company actor of Impro Melbourne after attending classes throughout
