Favourite play: Titus Andronicus

Favourite character: Lear's Fool

Scout is a Melbourne-based writer, currently finishing up a degree in English & Theatre Studies at the University of Melbourne.

Ever since their dad took them to see a particularly gruesome adaptation of Titus Andronicus at age eleven (he thought it would be an anodyne Roman history), Scout has been intrigued by the Bard. Many years later, they fell into theatre by accident when a friend needed a favour at short notice. Since then, they have performed with the Melbourne University Shakespeare Company (Hamlet, 2014; Anthony & Cleopatra, 2015; Twelfth Night, 2016), Four Letter Word Theatre (Fastest Clock In The Universe, 2015), Union House Theatre (Joseph K, 2015), Until Monstrous... Productions (The Roar, 2015), Periscope Productions (Apocalypse Bear, 2016) and Twelve Angry Company (Macbeth, 2016). Their Shakespearean specialty is the licentious, borderline-alcoholic servant (Porter, Sir Toby, Iras, Rosencrantz).

Without any previous experience in improv or comedy, Scout originally met the Soothplayers by writing an article on them for a local journal of live performance. Now evolved from fan to fully-fledged thespian, they cannot wait to tread the boards with this prodigiously talented troupe!
